You've no doubt seen all of the screaming headlines lately about the scourge of drug-resistant superbugs that are now able to defeat even the strongest of prescription antibiotic drugs. Public health authorities -- both on the national and international levels -- are sounding the alarm over the drug-resistant superbugs. And the news media is helping them whip up a fervor among the general public, demanding that the governments of the world "do something" to solve the problem. For example, one recent news headline read, “Post-Antibiotic World Is the Real-Life Version of the Zombie Apocalypse.”

But the solution to the crisis of antibiotic-resistant superbugs is staring medical science right in the face.  And it has been for decades.  And they know it.  

Numerous clinical studies have demonstrated the fact that safe, natural colloidal silver is astonishingly effective against antibiotic-resistant super-pathogens.  

For example, one of the latest clinical studies demonstrates that adding silver to antibiotic drugs actually increases their effectiveness by up to 1,000x, and makes drug-resistant pathogens susceptible to the antibiotics once again!

Silver Works Alone, As Well

More importantly, numerous other studies demonstrate the fact that silver by itself kills numerous drug-resistant super-pathogens. 

For example, this clinical study, published in the World Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology in 2010, demonstrates that antimicrobial silver alone is effective against drug-resistant bacterial strains, including multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa, ampicillin-resistant Escherichia coli, and erythromycin-resistant Streptococcus pyogenes.   

Colloidal silver even kills the deadly, drug-resistant MRSA pathogen, now responsible for up to 94,000 life-threatening infections and 23,000 deaths per year in the U.S. alone (see documentation at the Colloidal Silver Cures MRSA website).  

In just a moment, I’ll show you even more clinical studies proving beyond any shadow of a doubt that colloidal silver and other forms of antimicrobial silver are devastatingly effective against the antibiotic-resistant superbugs. 

The Multi-Billion Dollar Scam

But first, a question: If the situation with drug-resistant superbugs is so dire – and it most definitely is – then why won't the medical authorities embrace silver as the solution?  The answer is disturbing:  Ultimately, it’s because the big drug companies have something else in mind. You see, Big Pharma wants to tap into billions upon billions of dollars in taxpayer funds, in order to pay for the cost of developing brand new, super-strength antibiotic drugs. In other words, they want taxpayers to pay for the development of these new antibiotic drugs.  And then, afterwards, they want to sell these same new drugs back to the taxpayers for additional billions of dollars in profits! According to the news media, the big drug companies are claiming that it’s no longer “profitable” for them to develop antibiotic drugs. Big Pharma wants to focus solely on developing drugs that people with chronic health conditions such as heart disease or diabetes will have to take for the rest of their lives, rather than drugs that only need to be taken for a few weeks at a time to cure an infection. So what if tens of thousands of people are dying every year in the U.S. of drug-resistant infections?  It’s all about the Benjamins.  Only the money matters.  The cost in terms of human lives is irrelevant.  And the truly big money lies in developing drugs for diseases that have to be taken for the lifetime of the patient. But…says Big Pharma, if the federal government will fork over billions of dollars in taxpayer monies to help fund antibiotic drug development, then (and only then) will they begin work on new antibiotic drugs to help stem the tide of drug-resistant pathogens. As investigative reporter John Aziz from The Week has pointed out, “The incentives to produce more and better antibiotics only kick in under the worst circumstances, when millions of people are dying from antibiotic-resistant infections."

Greed and Avarice

What Big Pharma wants -- in their utter greed and avarice -- is nothing more than direct guaranteed access to the public trough, meaning to taxpayer money. 

So they’ve purposely stopped developing new antibiotic drugs – claiming they’re “not profitable” -- until the governments of the world agree to fund their development via taxpayer money. 

And if they have to wait for millions of people to be dying of drug-resistant infections from the superbugs before the governments of the world give in to their blackmail, then so be it.

In short, the entire antibiotic-resistant drug problem is very real, yet the so-called “hunt for a new solution” is a great big scam of the highest order.  It is an utter fraud.

There’s no “new solution” needed.  They have the solution.  It’s thousands of years old. And simply put, it is this:  Pure, natural antimicrobial silver.

Big Pharma knows for a fact that silver kills antibiotic-resistant microbes.  They’ve known it for decades. 

After all, in clinical study after study after study after study after study after study after study silver has been demonstrated to kill the drug-resistant super-pathogens.

And Big Pharma is simply choosing not to use it, because if they admitted knowing that a few cents worth of silver could eradicate an infection caused by a drug-resistant pathogen, they’d never get their hands into the taxpayer’s pockets to the tune of billions upon billions of dollars in free drug development monies. 

So safe, natural colloidal silver sits on the sidelines, alone and completely ignored, even though numerous clinical studies demonstrate it to be astonishingly effective against the very super-pathogens you're reading about in the newspapers every day.

Proof Positive Colloidal Silver Kills Superbugs

As I mentioned, numerous studies have now demonstrated colloidal silver to be highly effective against antibiotic-resistant superbugs. Let me summarize just a few of these studies for you, and tell you exactly what the experts are saying, as well: BYU Study Demonstrates Effectiveness of Colloidal Silver Against Drug-resistant Pathogens In this clinical study, conducted quietly in October 2006 at the Department of Microbiology/Molecular Biology of Brigham-Young University, and published in the journal Current Science, Vol. 91, No. 7, October 10, 2006, it was found that a number of the antibiotic drugs which formerly killed MDR (multiple drug-resistant) pathogens such as MRSA could actually be restored to full efficacy against the deadly pathogens, but only if a colloidal silver solution was used in conjunction with the drug! The researchers found that when they used a liquid colloidal silver solution in conjunction with the antibiotic drugs, the synergism between silver and the antibiotic drugs brought the deadly pathogens back under control. Since the antibiotic drugs had previously lost their effectiveness against the super-pathogens, this clearly demonstrates that the silver was the deciding factor in the deaths of the deadly pathogens!

Silver Enhances Antibiotic Activity Against Gram-Negative Bacteria

This clinical study, published in the journal Microbiology in June 2013, also demonstrates the ability of silver to dramatically boost the effectiveness of antibiotic drugs against drug-resistant super-pathogens. According to the study authors, “A declining pipeline of clinically useful antibiotics has made it imperative to develop more effective antimicrobial therapies, particularly against difficult-to-treat Gram-negative pathogens…This work shows that silver can be used to enhance the action of existing antibiotics against Gram-negative bacteria, thus strengthening the antibiotic arsenal for fighting bacterial infections.”

Bactericidal Effect of Silver Nanoparticles Against Multidrug-resistant Bacteria

This is the study I linked to earlier in this article, demonstrating the fact that antimicrobial silver alone is extremely effective against some of the most common (and deadly) antibiotic-resistant superbugs.  Most importantly, this study demonstrates that silver is bactericidal against these superbugs, and not just bacteriostatic.  This means it flat-out kills the drug-resistant superbugs rather than merely inhibiting their growth rate. According to the study authors, “We aimed to determine through different in vitro assays the antibacterial properties of silver nanoparticles against drug-resistant bacteria, infectious agents that represeant a constant threat in hospital and community environments…Our data suggest that silver nanoparticles are effective broad-spectrum biocides against a variety of drug-resistant bacteria.”

In Vitro Evaluation of the Activity of Colloidal Silver Concentrate Against Pseudomonas aeruginosa Isolated from Postoperative Wound Infection

In this study, antimicrobial silver by itself was demonstrated to literally decimate the deadly and very opportunistic multi-drug resistant pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa.  The researchers concluded, “In the present study, colloidal silver was shown to demonstrate very potent antibacterial activity against P. aeruginosa.”  The researchers went on to plead, “This activity should be urgently exploited in the development of highly active antibacterial therapeutic agents to combat the rapidly increasing infectious diseases that currently challenge the present arsenal of antibacterial drugs.”  In other words, the researchers are practically begging Big Pharma to look into the use of antimicrobial silver as a means of stopping the horrific spread of antibiotic-resistant pathogens.

Colloidal Silver As a New Antimicrobial Agent

In this clinical study, published in 2010 in the International Journal of Microbiological Research, colloidal silver was found to be highly effective against such drug-resistant super-pathogens as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Salmonells typhi. According to the study authors, their research “was the result of bioassay experimentation on the effects of colloidal silver on multidrug resistant bacteria.”  The researchers found that colloidal silver demonstrated “powerful antimicrobial activity against multi-drug resistant clinical gram positive and gram negative bacteria.” 

Colloidal Silver for Lung Disease in Cystic Fibrosis

In this fascinating medical case study, lung disease specialists from Great Britain report on an 11-year old Cystic Fibrosis victim afflicted with multi-drug resistant pathogens including Burkholderia multivorans and Stenotrophomonas maltophilia. Many Other Studies

There are many other clinical studies just like these demonstrating the fact that colloidal silver and other forms of antimicrobial silver kill the deadly drug-resistant super-pathogens with ease, or can be used in conjunction with existing antibiotic drugs to kill the deadly drug-resistant superbugs. But Big Pharma doesn’t want you to know about these studies, because if you did, you’d never again believe their hysterical cries that they need billions of dollars in taxpayer money to help develop brand new antibiotic drugs.

My point in writing this article is to demonstrate that medical science has known decades that antimicrobial silver is highly effective against the antibiotic-resistant super-pathogens. And therefore the current ongoing media scare in which the public is constantly being bombarded with the message “The world is about to run out of effective antibiotic drugs” is a grand farce designed solely to scare the bejabbers out of people, and to convince politicians to funnel billions of dollars of taxpayer monies into the coffers of Big Pharma as a means of inducing them to develop new and more powerful antibiotic drugs. Vitamin B3 may be the cure for drug-resistant superbug infections

(NaturalNews) While the pharmaceutical industry is busy trying to conjure up new drugs to tackle the antibiotic-resistant "superbug" epidemic, a recent study published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation explains how simple vitamin B3, also known as nicotinamide (NAM), taken in high doses may effectively thwart staph and other potentially life-threatening infections without the need for drugs.

Researchers from both Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in California and the Linus Pauling Institute (LPI) at Oregon State University (OSU) collaborated with one another to test the effects of high doses of NAM administered to both live mice and human blood infected with Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus). What they found was that vitamin B3 significantly boosts the number and effectiveness of neutrophils, or white blood cells that target infections.

It turns out that, when taken in doses far higher than those recommended by the federal government, vitamin B3 is capable of significantly boosting the body's own natural immune system to the point where many diseases simply cannot survive. According to the study, vitamin B3 is capable of increasing immune capacity by 1,000 times, allowing the body to naturally fight MRSA and other deadly pathogens.

"This could give us a new way to treat staph infections that can be deadly," said Adrian Gombart, an associate professor at LPI, about the dramatic findings. "It's a way to tap into the power of the innate immune system and stimulate it to provide a more powerful and natural immune response."

NAM is not just effective against S. aureus, though. Several other virulent pathogens, including human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), also seem to respond favorably to NAM's dramatic immune-boosting capacity. By bolstering the immune system's natural defenses, NAM appears to facilitate the destruction and elimination of a host of deadly pathogens and viruses.

"NAM is not only effective against S. aureus, it also has demonstrated efficacy against other major human pathogens, such as K. pneumoniae (Klebsiella pneumoniae) and P. aeruginosa (Pseudomonas aeruginosa), in our human peripheral blood killing assay," wrote the authors in their discussion. "We have demonstrated that NAM, as an HDAC inhibitor, can improve host defense and thereby promote bacterial clearance."

And unlike antibiotic drugs, vitamin B3 does not destroy all the beneficial bacteria in the gut along with the harmful bacteria. So for most people, taking mega-doses of therapeutic vitamin B3 is preferable to taking immune-destroying antibiotics that can later promote the growth of Candida albicans and other harmful yeast overgrowths and bacterial imbalances within the body


Antibiotic resistance is a true crisis, one that is growing and is even recognized by the federal government as a near-future crisis. An over-dependence on antibiotics and the sanitization of everything has helped bacterial evolve into unstoppable “super bugs”, or those that are capable of resisting conventional drugs designed to kill them. The solution is complex and involves reducing our use of antibiotics, but it may also include the use of something as beautifully simple as honey.

“The unique property of honey lies in its ability to fight infection on multiple levels, making it more difficult for bacteria to develop resistance,” said Susan M. Meschwitz, Ph.D. , leader of a study presented at the 247th National Meeting of the American Chemical Society.

Honey, Dr. Meschwitz went on, acts using a combination of components toxic to bacterial cells, including osmotic effect, high sugar content, polyphenols, acidity, and hydrogen peroxide. “Honey may also disrupt quorum sensing, which weakens bacterial virulence, rendering the bacteria more susceptible to conventional antibiotics,” Meschwitz said. Her research isn’t the only to identify honey as a powerful antibiotic. On the contrary, numerous studies have found the natural substance to fight a variety of infection types.

One of those studies, reported on by NaturalSociety’s Christina Sarich, found that manuka honey was particularly effective in the treatment of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA, a deadly and relatively common super bug.

“Fifteen antibiotics were tested with and without sublethal concentrations of manuka honey against each of MRSA and Pseudomonas aeruginosa using disc diffusion, broth dilution, E strip, chequerboard titration and growth curves,” wrote the study authors in PLoS ONE. “Five novel antibiotic and manuka honey combinations were found that improved antibacterial effectiveness in vitro and these offer a new avenue of future topical treatments for wound infections caused by these two important pathogens.”

Another study came to similar conclusions, finding that honey – particularly that derived from bees foraging on manuka flowers – halted one type of streptococcus pyogenes from inhibiting the healing of wounds.

And while modern research is only on the tip of the iceberg where honey’s powers are concerned, using honey to fight infections is far from a modern phenomenon. As Anthony Gucciardi reports, honey was routinely used historically until the penicillin came on the scene:
